About OBLIG

Strengthening Ireland’s Organic Beef & Lamb Sector

About OBLIG

The Organic Beef and Lamb Innovation Group (OBLIG) was established to tackle the challenges facing Ireland’s organic livestock sector.

Despite recent growth, many farmers, finishers, processors, and retailers remain disconnected, leading to inefficiencies and high levels of leakage, where organic produce is sold as conventional. OBLIG brings stakeholders together to improve coordination, reduce leakage, and support sustainable growth through farmer networks, training, and collaboration.

By addressing supply chain gaps and promoting innovation, the project aims to create a more efficient, resilient, and profitable organic beef and lamb sector.
